Raising awareness to the importance of fresh water quality and ocean preservation With a purpose to raise the citizens and school community's awareness to a more active participation in maintaining the beaches clean and to respect the ocean as a natural resource and also to try to involve the schools in the improvement of environment, promoting a direct knowledge of the issue of suppliance, treatment and water pollution in the surrounding coast zone, EPED students working with children, have taken various actions such as: - Visited the water museum with children from ages 7 to 15 - Visited water treatment plants - Produced an exhibition with the cycle of suppliance and treatment of water - Visited water analysis laboratories - Analysed water quality as field/laboratory work - Organised a theatre play to raise awareness about the issue Water/Oceans - Visited the dunes - Cleaned beaches with children - Visited EXPO'98. A final exhibition of the materials gathered and built during the project will be held on the 1st of October, when World Water Day is celebrated. All these activities were thought and performed in a multidisciplinary perspective.
