Solar Energy We are a team of students aged 16-17 years old. Through our school, E.P.L. High School of Patras, we took part in the international program "Young Reporters for the Environment" where we dealt with the problem of energy and especially with Solar Energy, trying to find out how it would help solve global problems. We found out that the installation of a 2 square metre solar collector decreases the emission of CO2 and other pollutants by almost 1 ton yearly. We sent our reports to the local newspapers and entered two articles on the Internet. We believe that the typical patterns of the consumer society should change. Governments also should take measures in order to save energy and give motivation for the increase of the use of Renewable Energy Sources. Finally, we strongly believe that an attempt should be made to inform and sensitize the public, especially students.
