WASTE - DECHETS - ELRECICLAJE  WASTE

Enviromental Club

For the past two years, the Grade V students of VRCS have collected, sorted and recycled all school paper, glass and metal. Material is collected from every student area on a weekly basis.

Students were required to design eye catching, informative posters for each collection area. Pairs of students went to each class, talked about recycling and explained how to divide the recyclables.

The class designed and mounted a bulletin board message/display in our front foyer for visitors, students and to drive home the message that we must "Share the Care of our Earth".

Beginning in 1998, Grade V will design and plant a perennial bed of flowers along the border of the parking lot to reroute foot traffic from the lawns. Students are also responsible for keeping the grounds clean.
