AIR - ATMOSPHERE - ATMÓSFERA  AIR

Students Against Ecological Catastrophy

Our town is the zone of ecological catastrophy. There are many "dirty" plants and factories (Ulba Metal Plant, Lead and Zink Plant, etc.). All the territory of the city and region is covered with industrial waste and litter and the air is too smoky to breathe. We, school students, try to do our best to protect our environment. We take an active part in different ecological activitites, such as meetings of protest where we make reports and speeches. For example, we had a joint chemistry, biology and English party devoted to our region's ecological problems. There we watched some videos, sang songs, presented our posters and listened to some students' accounts of their research on environmental issues. As representatives of our city we call upon all the citizens of Kazakhstan to protect our environment.
