INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF
RACIAL DISCRIMINATION
The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on 21 March. This year's theme is "Empowering Youth to Fight Racism". Cyberschoolbus invites you to learn, reflect, and take action against racial discrimination, a powerful issue that affects us all.

WATCH DISCUSS
Join the UN, MTV host Ananda Lewis, the Globo Network (Brasil), South African Broadcasting, and an audience of teenagers to explore how television and the Internet are helping young people fight racism. There will be a live webcast from UN Headquarters on 21 March from 10-11:30 AM EST* featuring special appearances by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and the UN's High Commissioner for Human Rights.

We encourage students to post at Voices of Youth, UNICEF's bulletin board for young people. In honor of 21 March, post in the Youth Rights area: Give an example of a situation when your rights, or the rights of young people in your community, were not protected. What could you do about it?
*RealPlayer is required to view the Webcast.
You can
download it for free.
Before posting, read about Voices of Youth
and VOY's site usage policy.
