2008 NATIONAL VOLUNTARY PRESENTATIONS (NVP)
On 2–3 July 2008, Ministers from Belgium, Chile, Finland, Kazakhstan, Lao PDR, Luxembourg, Tanzania and the United Kingdom will provide an assessment of their progress towards the achievement of the internationally agreed development goals, including the MDGs. The presentations will be based on their respective national development strategy (NDS) or policies and their implementation.
Preparing for the NVP entails two key activities: holding national consultative meetings to bring together national stakeholders in the review process and drafting a National Report. The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs provided substantive support to national consultative meetings held in the Lao PDR (23 March), Kazakhstan (17-18 April), Chile (28-29 April), and Tanzania (22-23 May).
