RECENT RELEASES

United Nations Public Service Announcement on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms featuring Michael Douglas, UN Messenger of Peace, is produced at UN Headquarters in New York in May 2006. It is available in English with subtitles in 18 languages.

"While owning guns is a legal right in most countries, the illegal trade in guns continues to fuel conflict, crime and violence. Every day a thousand people are killed by guns throughout the world. The United Nations has a plan of action to help countries better protect their people by keeping illegal guns out of the wrong hands — especially those of children. This is an issue that affects us all"
