LIBERIA IN TRANSITION (5x15'), the first part of the series, sheds light on issues that affect the daily life of Liberians who have resolved to live together peacefully again.
SIERRA LEONE IN TRANSITION (7x15'), the second of three special series, concentrates on issues affecting the life of Sierra Leoneans since 2002, when the country emerged from a decade of civil war. Through the series, UN Radio explores, among other topics, the poor living conditions in the capital Freetown and the army barracks, education, diamonds exploitation, child miners, health and unemployment. The series also touches on issues confronting the military in Freetown, on security, on human rights and on the power of radio in post-war Sierra Leone.
The new spots from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) were launched on 9 December 2005, the International Day against Corruption. The spots aim to motivate the general public to fight corruption in different sectors: health, politics, justice, education, business, etc. They also emphasize that corruption affects everyone and should not be tolerated. They are currently available in English , French and Spanish, with Portuguese versions to be added shortly.
