At UN Headquarters in New York, the Secretary-General participated in a wreath laying ceremony where he said that the burden of peacekeeping is borne by individuals. This year's commemoration honoured 107 peacekeepers from 46 different countries who lost their lives in 2006 while serving the United Nations. "The wreath we lay today will not be here forever. But the memory of all those who have died will always be with us."
