THE
G8, AFRICA AND THE UNITED NATIONS, AND
THE ROLE OF AFRICAN BUSINESS
As
the G8 debates African poverty and Africa's needs,
we ask the deputy head of the UNDP, Zephirin Diabre,
what Africa could really expect from the G8 Summit:
"I don't think we as Africans should
spend our time expecting others to come and solve
our problems. It is a good thing if our issues
are being taken upfront by our partners. But it
goes without saying that the main responsibilities
for finding the solutions remain in the African."
And former Nigerian Industry Minister,
Alhaji Bamanga Tukur on the crucial role of Africa's
private sector.
