TOGO: VIOLENCE AND CONFUSION
COTE D'IVOIRE: KEY OBSTACLE TO PEACE REMOVED
SUDAN: TOP REFUGEE AGENCY OFFICIAL ON HER RECENT VISIT

TOGO: Violence and confusion follow the presidential polls as the son of the late president Faure Gnassingbe is declared winner. Opposition candidate Akitani-Bob also declares himself president and angry protesters clash with the security forces, with scores killed. So what's the way out? UN Director for Political Affairs, Sammy Kum-Buo: "Peace and the rule of law should return to Togo. And we remain firmly committed to working with ECOWAS and other regional leaders to bring that to pass in Togo."

COTE D'IVOIRE: A major breakthrough on the road to lasting peace as President Laurent Gbagbo declares October's presidential elections opened to all - including his key opponent, Alassane Ouattara.

SUDAN: The Acting head of UNHCR, Wendy Chamberlin, visits Sudan and Chad and talks about the problems facing victims of conflict: "Security, security, security! "
