Former US President, Bill Clinton, recalls a recent visit to Nigeria where he joined President Olusegun Obasanjo in a televised event to help victims of the disease:
"President Obasanjo called Mrs. Ebekwa up on the stage and embraced her on national television. Again, at the time, it was a virtually revolutionary thing for a political leader in Africa to do, to show he wasn't afraid to embrace an HIV-positive woman."
