UNUSUALLY, THE SECURITY COUNCIL WILL MOVE FROM NEW YORK TO NAIROBI, IN SUPPORT OF THE SUDAN PEACE PROCESS
& NEPAD CRITICISED: WHAT HAS IT ACHIEVED?

On November 18th and 19th, the UN Security Council will be meeting - not in New York but - in Nairobi, Kenya, in support of the Sudan peace process. Is it just symbolism? And why is the United States envoy to the UN, John Danforth, optimistic?
"This is an opportunity for the Security Council to paint a picture of the future of Sudan and the future of international participation in Sudan."

And, NEPAD, the latest vehicle for Africa's economic redemption: Is it just a "pad in the sky?"The view of the UN's Special Adviser on Africa, Ibrahim Gambari: "The next stage is to ensure that this is not just a concept by the leaders, of the leaders, for the leaders, but a concept and programme that touches the lives of every person."
