A SPECIAL INTERVIEW:
WITH DR ANNA TIBAIJUKA
(The Highest Ranking African Woman in the UN)

Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka is a formidable woman, who has come a long way from her humble home in rural Tanzania to become the highest ranking African woman working in the United Nations system.

"One billion people are now living in slums. In Africa the situation is even worse because about 300 million Africans are now living in cities. Seventy-two per cent of them are living in slums ... in cities like Accra, like Lagos, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Cairo. This is a shame."
