RISING CONCERN OVER THE DARFUR CRISIS

In this programme, increased concern over the crisis in Sudan's Darfur Region. Secretary-General Kofi Annan:
"There's been little progress on human rights, and I regret to say that there are continuing reports of attacks by the Janjaweed."

And, should sanctions be imposed on the Government of Sudan? Ambassador Heraldo Munoz of Chile:
"Nobody wants sanctions for the sake of sanctions. But that could be necessary if there is no compliance."
