Eritrean Deportees from Libya Hijack Plane to Sudan Eritrean deportees from Libya today hijacked a chartered plane from Libya and diverted it to Sudan. "Hijacking is considered by UNHCR as a criminal act that would lead to exclusion from refugee status. But we do still need to have a better understanding as to the situation itself, the conditions of that deportation." The hijacking
ended after the Eritrean deportees surrendered to the Sudanese authorities.
