WORLDWIDE SILENT MARCH HONOURS UN STAFF KILLED IN BAGHDAD

(August 26, 2003)


All duty stations of the United Nations have organized silent marches to be held on the same day, today. This is to honour the memory of friends and colleagues killed at UN Headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, on August 19th. The march is to protest the attack on the United Nations, and to highlight the ened to enhance security measures in the field where UN staff work.
