Secretary-General visits Epcot




Secretary-General Kofi Annan traveled to Orlando, Florida for an official visit to Epcot at Disney World on October 18-19, 1998. The Secretary-General announced that the United Nations will be a participant in Disney's newly planned Millennium Village, along with some 50 other nations of the world. The village will celebrate the human spirit and common humanity of all people. The Secretary-General also answered questions from the press about the current work of the UN and world issues, and later addressed the Annual Convention of the American Association of Magazine Publishers and Editors.
