The Photo Library is located at United Nations Headquarters in New York, and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. for research purposes, by appointment only.

Use of UN Photos:

Images are available to journalists, magazines, book publishers, film and TV producers. The images displayed online the digital database or in the subject galleries may be requested directly from the Photo Library. When requesting images or prints, please indicate the UN Photo reference number.

UN photographs can be reproduced for editorial purposes only. They may not be used in advertising. All photos used must show the UN Photo credit line.

Cost for ordering prints and slides:

There is a charge of US$ 7.00 per black and white print, US$ 15.00 per colour print. There is a charge of US$ 50.00 for each UN photo used in publications.

No payment is necessary for downloaded thumbnail images; payment should be made for downloaded larger images only when used in publication (see "Use of UN Photos" above). There is no charge for photos used by UN-affiliated non-governmental organizations and United Nations Associations.
