On 10 January 2008 UNIC Dhaka organized a poetry recitation session to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The event was jointly organized with the Goethe Institute and Meghdut, a poetry recitation organization. 100 leading poets of Bangladesh and human rights activists participated in the programme. The Officer-in- Charge of UNIC Dhaka,
the Director of the Goethe Institute and the General Secretary of Meghdut spoke on the occasion.
On Friday, 6 July 2007, the UNIC Moscow held a briefing on the latest session
of the Human Rights Council. The guest speaker was Mr. Oleg Malginov,
Director of the Human Rights Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry,
accompanied by two of his deputies.
