The Audio Library maintains a collection of current open United Nations meetings held in New York, such as the Security Council and the General Assembly meetings, selected historical material and special compilations. The Library also maintains a collection of audio materials of historical significance, and a collection of UN radio programmes.

As of 17 November 1997, the English News Programme is archived on Real Audio and available on the Internet.

Items are normally kept by the Audio Library for a period of six months to one year.   Selected historical items are kept indefinitely by the library. Older recordings are stocked mainly on four-track tape at the UN Archives, 345 Park Avenue South, tel. (212) 963-8681, and may be ordered from the Broadcast and Conference Engineering Unit, Room GA-13C, Tel. (212) 963-7658.

Services and fees:

Duplications are made available on 1/4" reel or cassette. Limited research services are available. Nominal fees are applied for special requests.
