» The Attack: On 11 December, a car bomb devastates UN offices in Algiers, killing 17 UN staffers and numerous innocent Algerians and injuring many others. The damaged buildings housed staff from several UN agencies and other UN offices.
» The Victims: UN mourns its fallen colleagues, voices deep sympathy to the people and the Government of Algeria, and the families of all victims.
» The Target: The targeted buildings were home to offices of several humanitarian and development agencies, as well as the Department of Safety and Security and the UN Information Centre.
