Skills aquisition/training of 100 rural youth drawn from over 7 communities within 3 States of Nigeria (Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa). Purpose:
To create self-employment opportunities for both men and women residing in the rural areas of Swaziland. Our overall objective is to train men and women in the technical and business skills necessary to establish small commercial enterprises within their homes. This way, we establish a pool of skills which can assist rural development.
Illustrative Project:
In 1997, Balolongi trained 34 young men and women in metal works and buiding skills in northwest Swaziland. The trainees have formed groups and started their own businesses. Balolongi has thus created self-employment and capacity building by offering training.

Health Care and HIV/AIDS Information - our organization manages three rural clinics for a population of about 30,000. Care provided is curative, promotive, and rehabilitative. These also include family planning, ante natal care, immunization, and home-based care for terminally ill patients. We also collect 3,000 units of safe blood each year.

Yonge Nawe is a non-governmental organization dedicated to spreading environmental awareness throughout the kingdom of Swaziland. It seeks to bring about change in behavior sufficient to ensure a sustainable use of our natural resources through providing knowledge and encouraging active participation.
Illustrative Project:
We were part of a group that lobbied and pushed the Government to establish a Swaziland environment authority, which was set up in 1992. We now sit on its board and this body has the ultimate authority on all environmental issues. Through its establishment we are now able to carry out environmental assessments on all proposed projects. We are also hoping that through it we shall see environmental education becoming part of the formal school curriculum, as at the present moment our organization has to conduct all environmental awareness raising, education and training in a non-formal way.

The organisation has to date successfully trained ten university graduates, three nurses, ten teachers, three mechanics, one builder, five officers in financial institutions and others in gainful employment.
