Objectif:

Améliorer l'accès aux services financiers, en renforçant les rapports entre la banque et les organisations de crédit à des groupements communautaires de base; engager la femme dans les programmes de développement économique, social et culturel du pays; appuyer la femme dans l'accès aux ressources de production; renforcer les initiatives sur l'élimination des handicaps légaux, sociaux et culturels; encourager la participation de la femme dans les activités de développement; augmenter l'accès pour la femme aux services de santé appropriés, accessibles et de qualité; lutter pour le respect, l'égalité et l'équité entre hommes et femmes; orienter l'assistance technique vers les systèmes de production ruraux pour aboutir à la sécurité alimentaire; appuyer les communautés rurales, hommes et femmes, dans la pratique d'activités agricoles, l'élevage et autres activités à caractère économique et promouvoir la formation dans plusieurs domaines de développement économique.

Projet illustratif:

Développement communautaire durable - Elevage de chèvres: deux femelles et un mâle remis à deux familles, le mâle appartenant au projet. Environ 50 familles ont bénécié de ce projet. Création de petites entreprises: Le projet concerne un groupe de 25 femmes divisées par groupes de trois ayant pour objectif, la production de piments et de vinaigre, la production de pain et la couture. Le projet est en cours dans la province de Inhambane dans le sud du Mozambique.

Illustrative Project:

Family law approved at the World Women March. Project Forum Mulher organized a national mobilization with 1500 petitiions collected to claim a bill on domestic violence and a new family law with a gender perspective. Forum Mulher is now working on a bill proposal for domestic violence with the Legal Reform Commission and did many research and lobby campaigns for the newly approved Family Law.

Purpose:

Link is a coalition of NGOs that associate to further develop their objectives and common interests. Its main objective is to stimulate increased cooperation and coordination between Mozambican and International NGOs, the Government of Mozambique, donors, and other entities involved with humanitarian assistance and development programmes in Mozambique. In its civic education programmes, Link incorporates non-violent methods of conflict resolution. Link is supported, among others, by the Mennonite Central Committee in Canada.

Information Services - Link has created and maintains NGO and Donor Directories, as well as a Consultants Register of people who have experience and interest to work for NGOs.

Illustrative Project:

Grassroots and socio-economic development of women in 1988: 3 circles and 30 activists looked for food security during the war. In 1991, with foreign assistance, the circles grew to 7 with 260 activists, as well as 200 other members. The main activities include training and assistance in small business development and income generation, health education, family planing, domestic violence, literacy and the environment.

Undertook more than 272 activities; civic education and training; information about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases in more than 8 schools; training for young unemployed (3 658 participants, IT and English courses); livestock training; strengthening the capacity of national youth organizations.
