Objectif:
La finalité du CDM est de construire la nation mauricienne et d'oeuvrer en faveur de l'unité nationale. Ses objectifs sont de sensibiliser les femmes à diverses questions, de les former au travail de groupe, et de contribuer au bien-être des Mauriciennes en général. La devise du Cercle est: 'Le développement de la société repose sur le dos de le femme'.
Projet illustratif:
Ce programme de formation de trois mois s'adresse aux femmes de la région défavorisée de La Pipe, Curepipe. Il comprend des sesions sur la médiation, la nutrition, les premiers soins, le planning familial et la peinture. Au terme du programme, les participantes reçoivent un certificat de fréquention délivré par le Ministére de la Femme, de l'Enfance et du Bien-Etre familial.
Les femmes de La Pipe suivent une formation de six mois dirigée par des spécialistes des affaires en collaboration avec le centre pour la promotion de la petite entreprise. Les cours abordent le marketing, le calcul des coûts et la fixation des prix, le financement de projets, la gestion des ressources humaines, la comptabilité, la protection de l'environnement et l'hygiène. Des femmes qui avaient déjà fondé une entreprise ont partagé leur expérience avec les autres participantes. Differentes idées ont été soumises à ces dernières, par exemple dans le domaine de l'achat en gros pour la revente au détail, de la réalisation de broderies et autres travaux artisanaux à domicile, de l'aviculture et de l'élevage.
