Purpose:
Support the island population of the Bijagos-Archipelago situated in front of the coast of Guinea-Bissau in order to stop the exodus of young people.
Illustrative Project:
Vocational training of craftmen, seamen and fishermen. 70 young people have been trained; establishment of small scale enterprises i.e a group of 7 boats builders started their own artisan ship yard in May 1996. This initiative succeeded without any further support.

Objectif:
Promouvoir et défendre les droits et libertés fondamentaux de la personne humaine dont les principes sont indiqués dans la déclaration universelle des Droits de l'Homme et dans la Charte Africaine des Droits de l'Homme et des peuples; lutter contre la peine de mort.
Projet illustratif:
Campagne de sensibilisation auprès des populations pour l'abollition de la peine de mort; visite des prisons; campagne d'éducation civique pour les premières élections multipartites; rapport sur les cas de violation des Droits de l'Homme dans le pays et à travers le monde; organisation de séminaires; création d'un bureau chargé de l'assistance juridique à la femme et à l'enfant; symposium international sur les Droits de l'Homme dans les pays d'expression portugaise.
