Action Areas:
Purpose:
To develop women and youth physically, mentally and spiritually by providing a forum to share knowledge and experiences and by running programmes that address educational, political and socio-economic issues.
Illustrative Project:
A peer counseling project for Teens called PACT has been very successful. Its goal is to empower young people with knowledge and skills so as to be able to counsel one another to make informed decisions and build their self-esteem. Results: trained teenagers - both boys and girls have been able to impact others to the extent that the programme has spread throughout the country resulting in less teenage pregnancies, improved discipline in schools, and out-of-school youth running positive projects and no longer "street children".
