Food Habits in Later Life: A Cross Cultural Study CD-ROM

In 1988, the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) Committee on Nutritional and Ageing undertook to coordinate cross-cultural studies of food habits and health in later life. Its objectives were to describe health status, lifestyle and food habits amongst the aged in developing and developed countries and to determine to what extent food habits and lifestyle variables predicted health status in the aged. In doing this, they would prove that it was possible for different cultures to achieve comparable health status in later life having eaten, and continuing to eat in different ways from each other. This CD-ROM includes information on the cross-cultural studies undertaken on elderly centers worldwide. The studies cover 27 communities located in China, New Zealand, Australia, Central America and Europe.
