World Economic and Social Survey 2001

The World Economic and Social Survey offers unique insight and commentary on current trends and policies in the world economy. The Survey is essential to the business world and macroeconomic decision makers. Part I contains the forecasts of short-term global and regional growth, trade and finance trends, including the net transfer of resources to developing countries. Part II provides a broad discussion of vulnerabilities, such as in trade and finance, that hinder or even impede the catch-up modernization process of many developing countries and economies in transition. It also lays out policies and institutions to facilitate policy-making in these countries and expedite the development process with less uncertainty.
