Over 700 million trade records, covering 40 years, now accessible on-line

This unique database, the largest of its kind in the world, is now available at http://unstats.un.org/unsd/comtrade.

The UN COMTRADE meets the statistical information needs of many different users:
- Basic data extraction for users who are looking for specific trade information;
- Trade profiles of countries or products with graphical snapshots for users who want a quick overview;
- Database exploration can be done via various tools like the UN COMTRADE explorer or Data availability;
- Advanced data selection is available for users who want to make their own groups of countries or commodities, and want to create their own download record format and save their data queries;
- Quick search gives access to all parts of the UN COMTRADE system by country, commodity or year;
- Metadata menu items (Commodities list, Countries list and Glossary) allows users to access and view the full list of commodity headings, the references of the terms used, and to get background information on countries.

Access to the UN COMTRADE
Users have three choices of accessing the UN COMTRADE, namely (i) as a guest user without password and with free, but limited access (up to 1,000 records browsable and no download feature) or (ii) through individual subscription with a username and password or (iii) through an organizational subscription using the Internet Protocol (IP) address.
