Women and Men in Europe and North America

Women and Men in Europe and North America provides much needed information and analysis on the economic, political, and social differences, which still separate women and men and gives some insight into how these differences have changed in the past decades.

This edition consists of two distinct parts: country profiles and comparative analysis. The profile section provides a snapshot of the gender situation of 54 countries that provided data for the given indicators. The second part contains analyses of some of the issues that are most important to policy debate and exposes gender inequalities in different countries of the region.

The purpose of Women and Men in Europe and North America is to provide a gender database for the region and to help statisticians to identify the most important data gaps in the gender statistics field. The publication has a user-friendly format in order to reach a wide range of audience that is not necessarily familiar with statistical terminology or with interpreting statistical data.
