Women in Transition

The countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union are going through immense changes, and the people who are most affected by these changes are the women and children of the region. This publication provides information on the social and economic trends affecting children and families in the region. This year's report gives a special focus on the experiences of girls and women during the transition. It highlights the role of women in regional progress and the obstacles they face.
