Welcome to the Online Edition of the UN Chronicle.

The UN Chronicle is a quarterly magazine published by the United Nations Department of Public Information and available worldwide through subscription. This web site contains selected articles from the print magazine.

The UN Chronicle covers a broad range of activities and programmes of the far-reaching United Nations system, as well as questions of concern to it. It takes an in depth look into such serious issues as global warming, international economic integration, UN reform, health and human development, human rights and international peace and security. It features interviews, essays, opinions and ideas from officials and personalities connected with the Organization and its specialized agencies, as well as from independent experts. And each issue includes first person stories from a distinctly human perspective—ones that make visible the often unseen triumphs of the human spirit that confirm how even a single person can make a difference.

We encourage visitors to the site to correspond and engage in a healthy discussion about our published articles. In the online edition, we have included an e-mail link in all the pages to facilitate this process.

Readers can also browse through the contents of our previous issues by visiting the archives, which contain issues dating back to 1997.

We invite you to visit the site often and keep an eye open for frequent updates.
