The United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) launched its new website, "Gateway to the United Nations System's Work on Climate Change", on 3 August 2007. It highlights the wide-ranging work on climate change of the various organs and agencies of the United Nations. The website also makes it easier for Internet users to find information on climate change from across the UN system, providing the latest developments on efforts to reach a new international climate change agreement and featuring news, information on future events, as well as projects in the field and updates for youth.

In addition to bringing Member States together to find a common ground for addressing climate change at the international level, the new gateway works to assess the most up-to-date science on climate change, develop projects that assist people at the grass-roots level to adapt to the consequences of climate change. It also works to develop creative solutions that aim to reduce emissions that cause climate change.

The latest information on climate change that can be found on the new website include: the 60th Annual DPI/NGO Conference, entitled "Climate Change: How It Impacts Us All", which will be held from 5 to 7 September 2007; the high-level event on climate change announced by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, to take place on 24 September; and the upcoming UN climate change conference in Bali in December.
