A Little Polish Cookbook

Poland's diverse history is reflected in its cuisine, which has developed over centuries to produce dishes that are at once rustic and elegant, spicy and exotic. A Little Polish Cookbook presents a collection of authentic Polish recipes, from the intriguingly named Little Ears - small, stuffed pastries - to Pozarski Cutlets - created by the cook of the court of Czar Alexander the First - to the ever-popular Poppy seed Cake. Also included are recipes for such classics as Beetroot Consommé, known as the king of soups, and Herring with Sour Cream. Each delicious recipe is accompanied by a charming, full-color illustration.

By Mary Pininska and illustrated by Maciej Buszewicz.
