As part of CMCE's Portrait
of a Siege Generation Project several
of the Sarajevo artists created journals in
which they recalled experiences from the war
and meditated upon the issues of peace and
war that they encountered at a young age.
Lukavica
Artist Journals
Seven Bosnian Serb teenagers living outside
Sarajevo in an area called Lukavica kept journals
over the summer of 2003 in which they describe
war experiences that in some cases parallel
those of their counterparts inside Sarajevo.
The Lukavica students are not visual artists
but they are powerful writers, as the poems
in this section show.
