NGO LOSES CONSULATIVE STATUS WITH ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL CORRECTION

On page 1 of Press Release GA/SHC/3537 issued 27 October, the fifth paragraph should read as follows:

In the Council this morning, the representative of the United States urged a more lenient attitude towards the “transgression” of the NGO. In the Committee, the United States had proposed a three-year suspension of consultative status as an alternative. As the President of the Council noted, that proposal had drawn significant support, but consensus had not been achieved.
