Istanbul + 5 The General Assembly, in
its resolution 53/180 of 1998 on the Special session of the General Assembly for an
overall review and appraisal of the implementation of the Habitat Agenda, invited the
regional commissions to consider convening high-level meetings to review the progress made
in implementing the outcome of the Conference and to report the results of their review to
the Economic and Social Council. Accordingly, the regional commissions convened the
following meetings:
The regional reports were provided to the Special Session as information documents. Also, five representatives from the regional commissions presented the outcome of their preparatory meetings to the Ad Hoc Committee of the Whole of the Special Session on 6 June 2001. |
