 CONSENT OF PARTIES TO CONTRACT TO PROCEED WITH PROCESSING OF APPLICATION

FOR EXPORT TO IRAQ OF NON-GRL ITEMS

In accordance with paragraph 9 of the procedures annexed to Security Council resolution 1409 (2002), we the undersigned, as parties to the above-referenced contract, consent to the processing of the application for this contract, in respect of the non-GRL items provided for in that contract, in accordance with the procedures, subject to the terms and conditions agreed to by the parties in respect of such non-GRL items, and/or services incidental thereto. 

We agree that pending the outcome of any reconsideration procedure, the goods listed on the application form, which the UN technical experts have determined NOT to be included in the Goods Review List (GRL) may be exported to Iraq. 

The contracted value has accordingly been reduced:

The revised value incorporates any necessary adjustments pertaining to ancillary expenses such as services, transportation and insurance. 

In this connection, the Central Bank of Iraq has been advised of the amended contractual value and will prepare a letter of credit for the revised value specified above, following the issuance of an approval letter by the Office of the Iraq Programme. The buyer undertakes to advise the Central Bank of Iraq of any subsequent changes in the contracted value which may occur as a result of the reconsideration procedure.  We, the contracted parties, also agree to provide the Office of the Iraq Programme with an addendum to the contract if any further changes in the contracted value and/or scope of supply should be negotiated.
