  1. Migration and Urbanization in Asia and the Pacific: Interrelationships with Socio-economic Development and Evolving Policy Issues, Selected papers of the Pre-Conference Seminar (Seoul, 21-25 Jan. 1992). APSS No. 111.

    Abstract: This publication contains the results of studies carried out in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam and selcted papers that were presented at the seminar. They provide a regional review of current urbanization patterns and problems as well as those that are likely to affect countries in the region during the next century. It also includes information on female internal migration and the labour market as well as the overall report of the seminar.

  3. Trends, Patterns and Implications of Rural-Urban Migration in India Nepal and Thailand, APSS No. 138.

    Abstract: Presents detailed investigations into internal migration patterns and urbanization in the three countries covered. Rural-urban migration is linked to spatial patterns of employment and development. Causes of migration are reviewed. The impact of migration on ther status of women is also considered. Implications of rural-urban migration for development policy are presented.

  4. Survey of Spontaneous Migration to a Rural and an Urban area in Viet Nam, APSS No. 142.

    Abstract: Presents the results of surveys carried out in 1994 of spontaneous migration ( that not planned or organized by the state) to a rural area in Dong Nai province and to Vung Tau city, both in the south of the country. Information on migrant characteristics, living conditions, causes of migration, employment, and migration decision-making is presented.
