Abstract : This report contains the highlights of the Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference in terms of the organization of the meeting and the major topics considered during both the Meeting of Senior Officials and the Meeting of Ministers. It also contains the text of the Bali Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development as an annex.
Abstract : This booklet provides handy reference for those interested in the details of the Bali Declaration on Population and Development, including the 67 recommendations it contains under 10 headings: population, environment and developemnt; urbanization, internal and international migration; family planning and maternal and child health; population and human resources development; women and population and poverty alleviation; mortaitly and morbidity; ageing population data, research and information dissemination; and resource mobilization. The Bali Declaration also contains the goals of reducing the total fertility rate to the replacement level, or about 2.1 children per women, by the year 2010, as well as reducing the infant mortality rate to 40 per 1,000 live births or lower during the same period and reducing maternal mortality by half in those countries where it is still high.
Abstract : This volume contains some of the main papers that were presented at the Fourth Asian and Pacific Population Conference. (The report of the Conference and the Bali Decearation on Population and Sustainable development were published separately.) Considered at the Conference were background papers, working papers, special papers and general papers on a wide range of population and development topics of importance to the region.
Abstract : This book contains the report of the Meeting which was held at Bangkok from 12 to 14 January 1994 in fulfillment of Commission resolution 49/4. It also contains an overview of the targets and goals adopted by the two most recent decennial ministerial meetings on population organized by ESCAP as well as implementation strategies for mortality reduction and achieving replacement level fertility.
