The four studies presented in this publication examine border trade and cross-border transactions between selected countries in the Asian and Pacific region. Each study provides information on the evolution of border trade and cross-border transactions, the extent and composition of border trade, the various forms and conditions defined by government policies and bilateral agreements or arrangements, and the current policy and operational frameworks. The studies also offer recommendations, where appropriate, on how to promote border trade and foster the development of border regions.
