PLANNING DATA SHEET
UNITED NATIONS STANDBY ARRANGEMENTS SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION
This planning data sheet has been developed in order to collect information on the contributions pledged by the Member States under the United Nations Standby Arrangements System with emphasis on the data needed for the purpose of planning new missions and for the reimbursement of these resources if employed.

REQUIREMENTS
To facilitate for Mission planning and force building, as well as the proper use of the resources, there is a need for accurate information within the following areas:

- structure of the unit,
- operational capabilities,
- self-sufficiency and self-sustainment
- list of major equipment
- other equipment

ASSUMPTIONS / LIMITATIONS
Although resources have been pledged with agreed response times, they might be used in a wider time frame. It is therefore assumed that the information provided would be limited to operational and logistic planning purposes. After confirmation by the Member State to participate in a Peacekeeping Operation, additional information may be required.
Information contained in “Tables of Major Equipment” and “Self-sustainment and Self-sufficiency” will be considered as a basis for future Annexes A and B to contribution agreements between the United Nations and the troop contributing countries and as such will be subject for further negotiations before employment.

CONTENT
The Planning Data Sheet consists of six parts:

- Introduction
- Part I General information, Units, Grouped Personnel
- Part II Self-sustainment and Self-sufficiency
- Part III Initial Deployment Data
- Part IV Table of Major Equipment
- Part V Individuals
