H. Reports of sessional Committees of the General Assembly and Economic and Social Council

Sessional reports of the Main Committees of the General Assembly mainly transmit draft resolutions and decisions recommended for adoption by the General Assembly.
Sessional reports of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) transmit resolutions and decisions adopted by the ECOSOC during that session.

A. General Assembly – sessional Committee reports

Most of the sessional reports of the Main Committees of the General Assembly transmit texts of draft resolutions and decisions that the Committees discussed during their sessions. Initially they are published as Committee documents (e.g. A/C.4/60/L.20) and are discussed during Committee meetings.
During these meetings the Committees decide which draft resolutions and decisions they recommend to the General Assembly for adoption. These draft resolutions and draft decisions are then transmitted to the GA through Committee reports (e.g. A/60/478/Add.2). A report may contain one or more draft resolutions or draft decisions.
The major subjects that were assigned to draft resolutions or draft decisions of the Committee (e.g. A/C.4/60/L.20) are assigned to the reports containing their texts (e.g. A/60/478/Add.2).

Note: Some sessional reports of the main Committees transmit brief summaries of the plenary meetings of the Committees (e.g. A/60/478, A/61/420). There are also reports of other Committees, such as the General Committee (e.g. A/60/250), Credentials Committee (e.g. A/60/595), Ad Hoc Committees (e.g. A/58/422), etc. that usually provide proceedings of their sessional meetings.

B. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) – sessional reports (resolutions and decisions of the ECOSOC)

All resolutions and decisions of the ECOSOC adopted during one session are published as an official record of Economic and Social Council (ESCOR, Supplement 1).
The advanced (also called «mimeo») version of ECOSOC resolutions and decisions is issued as an E/year/INF/2 document (e.g. E/2006/INF/2) that usually transmits resolutions and decisions adopted at the organizational session. Addenda transmitting the resolutions and decisions adopted at substantive and resumed sessions are published at a later date. Note fields 500 and 599 are added to the record to indicate that the document would be published as and official ECOSOC record. The notes include the title, year and supplement number (e.g. To be issued in ESCOR, 2006, Suppl. no. 1.)
The official record of ECOSOC resolutions and decisions is published with the symbol E/year/99 (e.g. E/2006/99). The 495 tag indicates the supplement information: the title, year and supplement number (e.g. ESCOR, 2006, Suppl. no. 1).

Subject entries:
These documents (both advanced version and the official record) are assigned 610 corporate name subject headings, indicating the name of the body, session, year and subfield $g Resolutions and decisions.
The tag 610 corporate name subject headings in the official record (E/year/99) should cover all of the organizational and substantive sessions and the session’s agenda.
