At its sixth session the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) deferred consideration of the Draft Declaration and Draft Covenant to the next session to allow the Commission opportunity to review the draft in light of the observations received from governments.

By Resolution 116(VI) F of 2 March 1948 the Council "directed the Commission on Human Rights, through its Drafting Committee and at its next session, to give particular attention to the implementation aspect of the Bill of Human Rights".
