
HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE
SMLCAT DATABASE
FROM THE WEB
1) Create a directory
on your local drive (You may want to call it C:\winisis") or in any other drive (H:\winisis") (for the final
788 files of the SMLCAT database.
2) Click on the SMLCAT
database link.
3) A pop-up window
"Save as..." will appear.
4) Specify the directory you created in step 1 and click on "Save".
5) Once the .exe
file is saved on your local drive, open Windows Explorer and select this
file.
6) Double click on
"smlcat.exe" to extract the files of the SMLCAT database.
7) A pop-up window "Unzip to folder..." will appear. The default directory or folder (C:\winisis) will appear in the window as well. We recommend using
the same directory you created for the SMLCAT database. Otherwise, specify an alternative directory in which you want the files unzipped.
8) Click on "Unzip".
9) After the operation is done you should have
in your directory 788 files, which have been unzipped successfully. Close the pop-up window.
Step 2: HOW TO OPEN THE SMLCAT DATABASE(S)
1) From Windows Explorer, double click on wisis.exe to launch the software.
2) The default menu bar language in Smlcat is English. If you wish to change the working language, select the option Configure from the the menu bar, then select Change Language and double click on the desired language.
3) From the menu bar select the option Database, then select Open.
Smlcat database is available in English, French and Spanish.
To open the English Smlcat:
1) In the winisis directory, select the folder Data and then double click on Smlcat.
2) Select the file smlcat.mst in the FileName box. Then click OK to open the smlcat database, which initially contains just one sample record.
To open the French Smlcat:
1) In the winisis directory, select the folder Data and then double click on Fresml~1.
2) Select the file smlcat.mst in the FileName box. Then click OK to open the smlcat database, which initially contains just one sample record.
To open the Spanish Smlcat:
1) In the winisis directory, select the folder Data and then double click on Spasml~1.
2) Select the file smlcat.mst in the FileName box. Then click OK to open the smlcat database, which initially contains just one sample record.
