In the framework of the partnership established between the Dag Hammarskjöld Library (DHL) and the World Bank/International Monetary Fund (IMF) Joint Library, an initiative aimed at assisting field library staff interested in improving their professional skills has been launched.

The World Bank/IMF Joint Library initiated research on information relating to grants and training resources available to libraries and librarians, and DHL provided complementary information. In addition to a number of websites on grants, including grants for training, guidelines on grant proposal writing have been identified.

Organizations offering grant programmes for libraries include:
- philanthropic organizations;
- other types of foundations;
- government agencies.

Although each institution has its own rules and instructions, we also have identified websites that provide general guidelines on applying for grants.

We welcome suggestions on any additional useful websites on grants and grant seeking. Please send your message to : dhlsfl@un.org
