UNIC Tokyo: 43rd Annual Meeting of UN Depository Libraries (September 2011)
Throughout the two-day meeting, UNIC Tokyo appealed to the depository libraries to expand their outreach activities and to come back next year with what may be considered “best practices” for other depository libraries in the world.

The first day of the meeting focused on the outreach aspect, while the second day’s focus was on the enhancement of reference services.

The participants were able to articulate their commitments to increase and strengthen their outreach activities toward next year, through their discussions with colleagues from other depository libraries.

The meeting was organized in such a manner that the entire UNIC staff could contribute, in particular to encourage the depository libraries to expand their outreach activities, with each individual staff member speaking in their capacity and appealing for continued and expanded cooperation from participating libraries.
