Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I will be away for 3 weeks of the term. Is this OK?

A: No. Unfortunately, if you miss the first three weeks, you will automatically be removed from our attendance lists. This is for a good reason - by missing 3 weeks, you have already missed 25% of the course, which is the maximum number of absences allowed in order to pass the course. We recommend that you wait a term before registering for the course.

In fact, if you know you will miss more than three weeks any time during the course, we strongly recommend that you wait until the following term to take the course.

Q: May I attend more than one regular level at a time?

A: No. Most of our regular courses meet three times a week for 12 weeks. Each course becomes increasingly difficult, building on materials studied in the previous level.

Q: May I study more than one Language at a time?

A: Yes. You may, for example, take a regular level course in one language; and a special course in another language.   Please note, however, that:

  • you may not take a 'Level' course in two languages in the same term, and
  • you are encouraged to complete all regular level courses in one language before taking a regular level course in another language.
