Welcome

Welcome to the United Nations Language and Communications Programme at UNHQ in New York

The United Nations’ Language and Communications Programme (LCP) provides courses in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish to promote linguistic balance and multilingualism within the Secretariat.

The purpose of these courses is to provide staff members with the opportunity to learn the official languages of the Organization, and to enhance their ability to perform professional duties with greater linguistic competence.

OHRM’s Examination and Testing Service are responsible for the Language Proficiency Examinations. To learn about the Language Proficiency Examinations (LPE) in the six official languages you can click here.
